Design and Analysis of 4-GHz SOP FMCW HMIC Radar
The demand for higher performance systems that are smaller and have the potential to be more cost effective has lead hardware designers to adopt integration of many components and modules in a package (SOP) or on a chip (SOC). A compact SOP (single-substrate) L-band FMCW HMIC radar module for high-resolution sensor application has been demonstrated. For use with a single transmitreceive antenna...
متن کاملGHz FMCW Radar System with High Distance and Doppler Resolution and Accuracy
This paper presents an algorithm for 60GHz FMCW radar detection system providing precise distance and velocity measurements. A digital simulation environment based on the radar hardware setup is built to evaluate and demonstrate the applicability and performance of the detection system under laboratory conditions. The system first incorporates a normal FFT for general frequency estimation, base...
متن کاملRadar backscattering properties of nonspherical ice crystals at 94 GHz
[1] The millimeter wavelength radar backscattering properties at 94 GHz for six nonspherical ice crystals, which include hexagonal column, hollow, plate, bullet rosette, aggregate, and droxtal with 46 maximum dimensions ranging from 2 to 10,500 mm, are investigated using the discrete dipole approximation (DDA) method and Lorenz-Mie theory. It is found that the radar backscattering cross section...
متن کاملAdaptive antenna selection and Tx/Rx beamforming for large-scale MIMO systems in 60 GHz channels
We consider a large-scale MIMO system operating in the 60 GHz band employing beamforming for high-speed data transmission. We assume that the number of RF chains is smaller than the number of antennas, which motivates the use of antenna selection to exploit the beamforming gain afforded by the large-scale antenna array. However, the system constraint that at the receiver, only a linear combinat...
متن کاملJan Svedin , Lars - Gunnar Huss A 94 GHz imaging radar system
(not more than 200 words) This report describes the 94 GHz imaging radar system that has been developed and used within the IR/mm project during the years 2001-2003. The new system, which is based on active gate mixers (GaAs MMIC), shows higher performance than an earlier used system, which was based on resistive mixers (InP HEMT). The conversion loss and pumping power requirement have both bee...
